During the last two or three decades the study of language has become a very important part of logistics. The study of the theory of mathematics, which was the original object of logistics, resulted in the conception of mathematics as a system of signs constructed in accordance with certain rules. This result was generalized: it was seen that it is valid for all languages, whether “artificial” or “natural”, and the analysis of the concept of sign together with the formulation of the rules according to which the signs are combined with each other became now one of the chief aims of logistics.
