Theoretical model predicts sound intensity from hydro-impact, suggesting avenues for future experimental validation.
In this paper, a hydro-acoustic equation is derived to predict and model sound intensity from hydro-impact. It is shown that the cubic scaling of the flow speed significantly affects the intensity of the generated sound, alongside the efficiency factor, which plays a crucial role in affecting the intensity due to its encapsulation ability of complex physical constraints and also for its potential of being a variable function of the flow speed. Finally, a numerical example is also presented to illustrate the model's sensitivity to flow speed and the results are discussed. The framework presented in this paper is purely theoretical, serving as a foundational model that invites future experimental validation.
