Interview series highlights Luca Braun's investigation of trunk kinematics and balance control in human running.
ECR Spotlight is a series of interviews with early-career authors from a selection of papers published in Journal of Experimental Biology and aims to promote not only the diversity of early-career researchers (ECRs) working in experimental biology but also the huge variety of animals and physiological systems that are essential for the ‘comparative’ approach. Luca Braun is an author on ‘ Balance control after slip-like perturbations in human running when systematically altering forward trunk leaning’, published in JEB. Luca is a Postdoc in the lab of Prof. Dr Steffen Willwacher at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany, investigating how trunk kinematics affect human running biomechanics, particularly metabolic cost, joint loading and balance control.
