In the first self-diffusion study for a member of the 1-3-62 chalcopyrite family we have studied by radioactive tracer analysis the isothermal (T=700 °C) diffusion of 75Se in CuInSe2 as a function of Se and In2Se activities; the diffusion coefficient DSe varied between 2×10−13 cm2 s−1 ( pSe2=0.01 atm) and 1×10−12 cm2 s−1 ( pSe2=0.32 atm). The dependence of the diffusion coefficient on the two component activities D∼p0.5Se2 and D∼p0.0In2Se permits us to assign the diffusing species to Sexi. A simple defect model is established and compared to the literature results of the transport properties of CuInSe2.
