Recent work on separation techniques such as column, thin‐layer, gas‐liquid, and liquid‐liquid partition chromatography; chemical and physical characterization techniques, e.g., derivatization, X‐ray, infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry; and the possibilities for qualitative and quantitative analysis using these and other methods are discussed.
