Horn-shaped yttrium oxide nanotubes (“nanohorns”) with base diameters ranging from 450 to 900 nm, tip diameters ranging from 80 to 100 nm, and lengths of 3.9 to 16.5 μm were prepared by electrodeposition on a vapor deposited gold substrate in a nonaqueous medium.
