The equation of hydrostatic equilibrium and Clairaut's equation are integrated numerically to obtain mathematical models for solid bodies of planetary dimensions. Equations of state at 0°K for the more abundant materials within a solar mixture are estimated, and mass-radius curves are plotted for model planets composed of these materials. Sets of self-consistent models for Uranus and Neptune are computed on the basis of a stated set of assumptions, and the properties of these models are calculated and compared with available observational data.
