Prosthetic pulmonary valve thrombosis in pregnancy successfully treated with thrombolysis

1 pregnant 37-year-old woman with a history of congenital pulmonary stenosis and a 25-mm Medtronic Advantage bileaflet pulmonary valve prosthesis who developed prosthetic pulmonary valve thrombosis at 13 weeks gestation.

Tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA) administered as a 10-mg i.v. bolus followed by an infusion of 90 mg over 2 hours.

Restoration of normal prosthetic valve function and alleviation of symptoms.
