The synthesis and crystallization of 9,12-bis-(4-fluorophenyl)-1,2-carborane 1 and 9,12-bis-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-1,2-carborane 2 provide the first examples of a supramolecular assemblage directed by C–Hcarborane⋯F interactions.
