A simple semi-empirical method for calculation of the electronic structure of oxide glasses is suggested. The conception of the glassforming quasicomplex unit is introduced and the calculations of quasicomplexes for vitreous silica and germania are carried out. The result of the calculations enables us to explain a number of spectroscopic properties of oxide glasses.
