In cases of hysterical hemiplegia and hemianesthesia, paresis or paralysis develops on one side of the body, usually on the left side, and a diminution or loss of all modalities of sensation, including the special senses, occurs on that side of the body.The disease must be distinguished from organic neurologic disease.
