This study investigates the role of ultrafine slag (UFS) in enhancing the performance of self-compacting geopolymer concrete (SCGC), focusing on both its fresh and hardened states. The alkaline solution-to-binder ratio was consistently maintained at 0.45, and the molarity was set at 12 M to ensure uniformity in our experimental conditions. The findings revealed that the addition of UFS substantially improved mechanical properties, though with a trade-off in workability; making it more challenging to handle and place. Specifically, the compressive and tensile strength of the SCGC increased by approximately 45% with optimal UFS content. Moreover, this study demonstrates that the inclusion of UFS enhances the durability characteristics of SCGC, suggesting that it not only strengthens the material but also improves its resistance to environmental degradation. These results indicate that UFS can play a crucial role in optimizing the performance of geopolymer concrete, paving the way for more sustainable construction practices.
