Lumbar radicular pain commonly results from inflammatory changes or mechanical compression of the spinal nerve roots. Transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI) is an established, minimally invasive treatment. Traditionally, TFESI utilizes fluoroscopy or C-arm technique, which entails radiation exposure and procedural complexities. Ultrasound guidance offers radiation-free real-time imaging but has limitations in lumbar spine applications. We present a novel mammillary-transverse (MT) ultrasound view technique that enhances procedural safety, accuracy, and needle visualization.
