In this article, leady oxide nanostructure was prepared by a hydrometallurgical leaching route in assistance with a low-temperature calcination process using simulated lead pastes as the starting materials. Crystal structure, morphology, electrochemical and battery performance of the as-prepared sample were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV), linear sweeping voltage (LSV) and electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS). The results show that the self-synthesized leady oxide nanostructure with a particle size range of 35–580 nm and granular shape comprise α-PbO, β-PbO and Pb with a certain proportion. The test of battery performance indicates that the initial performance and large current discharge performance of leady oxide nanostructure are much better than those of traditional leady oxide. Cycle performance can satisfy the demands in practical use. All the results demonstrate that the battery from leady oxide nanostructure exhibits a good prospect on industrializations in battery field.
