Formulae are derived giving the degree of polarization and its angular dependence of γ-radiation anisotropically emitted from nuclei aligned at low temperatures. These are in the form of Legendre series limited by the multipole order or nuclear spin. It is shown how the polarization determines the character of the radiation and the sign of the magnetic moment of the oriented nucleus.
