Does intravascular imaging optimize stenting in patients with coronary artery bifurcation lesions?
Does intravascular imaging optimize stenting in patients with coronary artery bifurcation lesions?
Intravascular imaging is essential for optimizing the stenting of coronary artery bifurcation lesions due to their anatomical complexity.
May support imaging-guided bifurcation PCI; leaves open standardized protocols and RCT confirmation of outcomes.
Among various coronary artery lesions, a special place is occupied by bifurcation lesions accounting for 15—20% in the structure of atherosclerotic coronary artery lesions. Intravascular imaging is essential in optimizing and stenting of such lesions due to anatomical features and technical difficulties of endovascular interventions for bifurcation lesions. This review summarizes clinical data on intravascular imaging in the treatment of bifurcation lesions. In addition, it explores the capabilities of intravascular imaging at each stage of bifurcation stenting.
