The integrated intensities of the far-infrared absorptions of CH3I, CHCl3, CH2Cl2, CH3CN, and their deuterated compounds in dilute solutions have been measured. They can be well explained by the rotational motion of the molecules with the dipole moments enlarged by Onsager’s reaction field.
