This research investigates the properties of sulfathiazole-based poly(urethane urea) with silver ions connected to the main chain. The polyurethane prepolymer was prepared from 1,6-hexane diisocyanate and poly(tetramethy1ene oxide) glycol. The formation of the polyurethane was investigated through FTIR, and the mechanical and thermal properties were evaluated. Distinct surface topography at different concentrations of silver ions was identified through AFM testing. The incorporation of silver ions in low concentrations resulted in an improvement in stress-strain parameters, as well as in a slight enhancement of the thermal stability. The hydrophilicity of the elastomer films increased with the increase in silver ions content.
