Simultaneous ESR and triplet–triplet absorption measurements have been performed on several aromatic hydrocarbons. The ESR measurement is used to determine concentration of triplet molecules at steady state. This concentration is used to calculate extinction coefficients and oscillator strengths for triplet–triplet transitions and the radiative lifetimes of the upper triplet state. Extinction coefficient values are compared with available literature data.
