Monospecific antisera to hepatitis-associated, or Australia, antigen (HAA) were obtained from 16 of 22 guinea pigs that were made tolerant to globulins from human serum and immunized with partially purified HAA incorporated in complete Freund's adjuvant. The antisera were used successfully for identification of HAA in sera and hepatic tissue by immunodiffusion, complement fixation, and fluorescent antibody tests.
