Satellite lines in the spectrum of nitric oxide which correspond to transitions Π322, v=1, J′←2Π½, v=0, J were observed. Intensity measurements show that these lines are of the order of 10—4 times less intense than the fundamental and have intensities which agree with theoretical predictions. From line-frequency measurements the multiplet splitting parameter is obtained for both the v=0 and v=1 vibrational levels. The values obtained are A0=123.1 cm—1 and A1=122.9 cm—1. The intensity of the fundamental is found to be 138 cm—2/atm at 273°K, which corresponds to a dipole moment derivative of 2.32 D/Å.
