The atomic scattering length of lead and the nuclear scattering lengths of lead and bismuth were measured with high accuracy. From the results we obtained bc(Pbatom)=9.4003±0.0014 fm, bN(Pbnucleus)=9.5121±0.015 fm, bN(Binucleus)=8.6412±0.015 fm, and from the previously reported bc(Biatom) we obtained two new values for the neutron-electron scattering length: bn,e=-(1.364±0.025)×10^-3 fm from the Pb experiment, and bn,e=-(1.393±0.025)×10^-3 fm from the Bi data.
