Annona muricata L. is used in traditional medicine due its biological activities. This study analyzes the antimicrobial and synergistic activity of hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves of A. muricata. These activities were assayed using the microdilution method. The phytochemical prospection was based on tests observing substrate precipitations and color modifications. The hexane extract of Annona muricata showed the presence of several metabolites, mainly tannins, flavones, and flavonoids, all substances related with antimicrobial and modulatory activity. The extract demonstrated growth inhibition against the tested bacteria with minimal inhibitory concentration clinically irrelevant values of ≥1024 μg.mL−1. However, when combined with aminoglycosides, the extract enhanced the activity of antibiotics. A. muricata L., therefore, can be a promising source of products to control multiresistant bacteria.
