Methodological issues in the study of mild head injury

This article identifies and clarifies some of the methodological issues responsible for inconsistencies in the literature regarding outcome of mild head injury. These issues include classification of head injury severity, biases in selection of patients with mild head injury, and use of controls to account for comorbidities related to other system injuries, preexisting conditions, and emotional reactions to and circumstances surrounding the accident.
