Bis(η 5 -cyclopentadienyl)tungstendihydride reacts with iPr 2 BCl, BCl 3 or BF 3 to give the saltlike compounds [Cp 2 WH 3 ]iPr 2 BCl 2 (1a), [Cp 2 WH 3 ]BCl 4 (b), and [Cp 2 WH 3 ]BF 4 (c) with a bis(η 5 -cyclopentadienyl)trihydridotungsten cation and a borate anion. Compound 1a crystallizes in the space group P2 1 /n.
