The shafting oscillation occurs in the grid-connected doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind power generation system may lead to the low-frequency oscillation in the grid, which can weaken the dynamic stability of the power system. Thus, this paper focus on the shafting oscillation damping control of the DFIG-based system. The characteristics of the DFIG shafting oscillation is analyzed. In addition, the four control strategies based on the complex torque coefficient method for improving the shafting oscillation damping of the grid-connected DFIG are investigated. Furthermore, a typical 2-MW DFIG wind power generation system is used for case study under various wind speed on DIgSILENT/PowerFactory. The simulation results validate the effectiveness of the four control strategies. Finally, the detailed comparative analysis and suggestion is presented. The research results of this paper can help to develop an optimal control strategy to suppress the shafting oscillation in the DFIG system under different conditions.
