Mechanical blends of polystyrene with small amounts of poly(2‐methyl‐5‐vinyl‐pyridine) furnish molded objects which acquire by means of a surface treatment with chemical agents (which react with the pyridic nitrogen) satisfactory antistatic protection. Methods of measure of the static charge are discussed along with the conditions of applications of the quaternizing agents.
