An anisotropy in the domain-wall mobility in rare-earth orthoferrites has been measured for the first time using a high-resolution measuring technique. This anisotropy is approximately 6% for most materials at room temperature, and is accurately predicted by a new modification to an existing model for canted antiferromagnets.
