The Raman scattering of nonplanar (form 2) poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVF 2 ) is described. Unique Raman bands not observed in the infrared spectra are found at 2973, 1437, 1327, 1198, and 1059 cm −1 . Band assignments are discussed by comparing infrared and Raman spectra of form 2 PVF 2 .
