Radio‐frequency air plasma treatments of Ti‐6‐4 and Co‐Cr implants increased surface wettability but concurrently increased ionic release. In vitro tissue culture experiments demonstrated no enhancement of cell growth and enrichment. Short‐term rabbit tibial implants also showed no difference between treated and untreated implants.
