SUMMARY A new surgical procedure for correction of medial luxation of the patella in the dog with normal or near normal rear limb conformation was evaluated. Its advantage over other soft-tissue-tension surgical techniques appeared to be that tension is exerted not only at the patella but also dorsally along the lateral aspect of the thigh, thereby correcting abnormal medial pull of the quadriceps femoris. Results of this procedure in 30 clinical cases indicated that it may be successfully used in selected cases of medial patellar luxation.
