Key result
Primary RCA stenting reduces acute RV pacing capture threshold by ~50% in inferior MI.
Why the study?
Does primary right coronary angioplasty improve acute elevation in right ventricular pacing threshold in a patient with pacemaker malfunction secondary to right ventricular myocardial infarction?
Case Report (n=1)
No
Does primary right coronary angioplasty improve acute elevation in right ventricular pacing threshold in a patient with pacemaker malfunction secondary to right ventricular myocardial infarction?
Acute right ventricular myocardial infarction can cause sudden pacemaker loss of capture and elevated stimulation thresholds that rapidly improve within hours of urgent coronary revascularization.

Júnior et al. (2016) conducted a case report in Pacemaker failure to capture secondary to right ventricular acute myocardial infarction (n=1). Primary right coronary angioplasty with bare metal stent placement and temporary pacemaker output reprogramming was evaluated on Right ventricular pacing capture threshold. Primary right coronary artery stenting reduced the elevated right ventricular pacing threshold from 4.0 V to 2.0 V at 0.5 ms within 3 hours in a patient with acute inferior myocardial infarction.
