Effects of the Promoter into the Fe2O3/Al2O3 Catalyst on the Styrene Formation from the Dehydrogenation of Ethylbenzene in the Presence of CO2.

The effects of the addition of promoter into the Fe2O3/Al2O3 catalysot n the styrene formation from the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene in the presence of CO2 were observed. On the addition of alkali earth metal oxides, the order of their effectivenesses were Ba>Sr_??_Ca>none>Mg at initial stage of the reaction (25min), and, even after 6 hours, the promoting effects of Ba and Sr were observed. As metal oxides other than alkali earth metals, Cr and Zr oxides were also effective.
