Self-Concept and Coping in Adolescents with a Physical Disability

A review of the literature revealed a complex, multifaceted relationship between self concept and coping with a physical disability. The relationship of a group of adolescents' self concept and Wright's conceptualized continuum of response to a physical disability within the spread, container, isolator framework was studied. Findings were examined with implications for nursing practice.
