Expressions for radial particle and heat fluxes are derived from a fluid formulation in which particle and heat sources are included. The derivation is carried out for a two-species collisional plasma in which the transport is dominated by ion-impurity collisions. The momentum transfer due to the introduction of the source and the alteration of poloidal particle and heat flows due to poloidal asymmetries in the sources are found to contribute to the particle and heat fluxes and thus to provide a potential mechanism for impurity control.
