Recent research on women challenges long-held generalizations in the history, sociology, and psychology that are taught to future teachers. This article examines the implications of this research for teacher education, with specific focus on the traditional staples of teacher preparation: foundations of education, educational psychology, and curriculum and methods courses. Authors propose various changes to correct for current imbalances.
