Insulin suppression of VLDL production is impaired in obese mice; hypothesis-generating for hepatic insulin resistance in human dyslipidemia.
In ob/ob mice, strongly induced hepatic de novo lipogenesis does not increase VLDL production, but insulin fails to effectively suppress VLDL-triglyceride production due to impaired insulin signaling.
