Adds Indian data on clopidogrel pharmacogenetics; leaves open clinical utility of genotyping.
Do genetic polymorphisms of CYP2C19, P2Y12, and ABCB1 affect the inhibition of platelet aggregation by clopidogrel in healthy Indian adults?
In healthy Indian adults, the H2 haplotype of P2Y12 is associated with significantly greater inhibition of platelet aggregation following a 300 mg loading dose of clopidogrel, while CYP2C19 and ABCB1 polymorphisms showed no statistically significant effect.
