Randomized trial analyzes energy dissipation in road pavements, suggesting design solutions for restoration.
The article discusses issues related to assessing the condition of structural layers of road pavements based on the analysis of deformation energy attenuation. The FWD impact loading device was used as experimental equipment, allowing dynamic hysteresis loops to be recorded at a distance from the loading point. For mathematical modelling of energy distribution in the road pavement structure, a model of the dynamic stress–strain state of a layered half-space based on Lamé equations was used. It was shown that the nature of deformation energy attenuation is related to the actual condition of the road surface and its individual elements and can serve as a basis for the development of design solutions for its restoration.
