The results of elastic scattering of mesons ( ceramic materia /sup -/) on protons at 10 Bev/c show that the shrinkage of the diffraction peak between 3 and 10 Bev/c is much smaller than that observed for proton-proton scattering. The differential cross section at small momentum transfer deviates from the exponential shape usually assumed, presenting an upward curvature. This, if confirmed, requires a revision in the intepretation of elastic scattering data at high energies. (C.E.S.)
