A simplified opaque wind model is used to estimate the emergent radiation temperature as a function of mass loss rate for giant eruptions of luminous blue variable stars. It is conjectured that this relation applies to the pseudo-photospheres of S Dor, R127, and P Cyg during their major outbursts, and to the wind itself of Eta Car during a giant outburst.
