The microstructure, phase composition and hardness of equimolar high entropy and multicomponent alloys Nb-Ni-Ti-Zr-Co synthesized by arc melting are presented. The microstructure and phase composition of the alloys were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, respectively. It was found that the BCC-(Nb, Ni, Ti, Zr, Co) and the niobium-enriched BCC-Nb(Ni, Ti, Zr, Co) phases were formed in the equimolar high entropy Nb20Ni20Ti20Zr20Co20 alloy, while in addition to the above BCC phases, B 2-Ni(Ti, Zr), B 2-CoZr, and ZrNi phases are present in different ratios in the Nb45(NiTiZrCo)13 and Nb75Ni6Ti9Zr5Co6 alloys. The equimolar high-entropy Nb20Ni20Ti20Zr20Co20 alloy is characterized by a hardness value of (550±10) HV, while the multicomponent Nb45(NiTiZrCo)13 and Nb75Ni6Ti9Zr5Co6 alloys are characterized by values of (450±40) HV and (390±20) HV, respectively.
