The geometrical properties of 2-bar full-set fabrics are considered in terms of two models; one in which there is a great deal of friction, so that parts of the structure are isolated from each other, and one in which this friction can be neglected. Il is shown that the model with the frictional restraint appears to predict the properties of warp-knitted fabrics more accurately, and this model is then used to calculate the general geometry of 2-bar full-set warp-knit fabrics. The fabrics are divided into two classes depending upon the relative effect of the frictional restraint, one type of fabric being relatively stable in dimensions while the other tends to relax to a known state. A set of graphs, which makes calculations based on these models easier, is also given.
