A 63-year-old man admitted a hospital because of headache. He had pain almost all day long, especially when he touched his head.A magnetic resonance image (left) was taken but no abnormality was found. The patient admitted our hospital for further examination. The magnetic resonance image taken by former hospital demonstrated an abnormal intensity in the fatty tissue in the skull (arrowheads).Subsequent bone image CT (right) at our hospital showed multiple osteolytic lesions in the skull. He was diagnosed as multiple myeloma.MRI is an outstanding tool and physicians are tends to order MRIs without taking conventional radiographs. However, bone is a weak point for MRI.
