In this study, we examined the effectiveness of a theory-driven, multimodal intervention to enhance knowledge of sun exposure, attitudes toward sun exposure. And sunscreen use in elementary school students. Results indicated that, compared to a no-intervention control group (n = 82), students in the intervention group (n = 09) reported significantly increased knowledge of sun exposure, intentions to wear sunscreen, and self-reported sunscreen use at a 2-week, postintervention assessment. The predictive utility of the theory of reasoned action was evaluated, with the results suggesting limited support for the model. Results are discussed with reference to implications for future intervention efforts to increase sunscreen use in children
