Summary Human colonic carcinomas have common antigen(s), also identified in carcinomas of the pancreas and stomach, and lymphocytes from cured as well as from tumor-bearing patients with these tumors can destroy cultivated neoplastic cells of these types. Lymphocytes from patients with colonic carcinomas are cytotoxic to cultivated epithelial cells of the fetal gut as well. Sera from patients with progressively growing colonic carcinomas, but not from cured patients, can block destruction of colonic carcinoma cells by the immune lymphocytes.
