Densities and viscosities for the binary mixtures of γ-butyrolactone with methyl formate, ethyl formate, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, and acetonitrile have been determined over the whole mole fraction range of the mixtures at 298.15 K. From these measurements, the excess molar volumes ( ) and viscosity deviations ( Δη ) were calculated. These results were fitted to Redlich−Kister type polynomials. It is shown that the values of and Δη are both negative over the entire composition range for each binary system investigated. Results have been discussed briefly on the basis of molecular interactions in these mixtures.
