The Liouville-Green uniform asymptotic method is used to obtain approximate eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the one-dimensional Schrodinger equation with an anharmonic oscillator potential. The term neglected in the basic differential equation, in accordance with the method, is studied in some detail.
