Demonstrates reliable humidity sensing in a room-temperature setup, suggesting effective sensor development.
A room-temperature chemiresistive humidity sensor based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was fabricated using a simple ultrasonication-assisted dispersion technique. The prepared MWCNT sensing film was characterised to verify its structural integrity and surface morphology before humidity sensing. The fabricated sensor exhibited reliable humidity sensing over a relative humidity range of 11-84% RH, achieving a response time of 35 s, a recovery time of 50 s, and a sensitivity of 19.52 ppm -1 under room-temperature conditions. The sensor also demonstrated stable and repeatable performance during cyclic humidity measurements while operating without external heating, resulting in low power consumption. These findings indicate that the proposed fabrication approach provides a simple and effective route for developing room-temperature chemiresistive humidity sensors with reliable sensing performance.
