Analysis demonstrates challenges of globalization on national economies, highlighting Georgia's potential for partnerships.
In modern conditions, the irreversible process of globalization has presented humanity with completely new challenges and requirements. Along with a number of positive events and innovations that significantly contribute to the convergence, mutual fusion and integration of the economies of states, there are, accordingly, challenges and threats that are characteristic of the transnational economy: increased unemployment, inflation, social polarization, the collapse of the economic borders of sovereign states, etc. Such processes lead to crises in both socio-economic and public and political relations. An important and main component of the world economy is precisely the national economies of individual countries. In the process of transformation, they take on completely new functions. Obviously, it is not easy to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and “painlessly” engage in global world economic processes. The main interest and goal of any state is to maintain national security, which is significantly hindered by the forceful dominance of large states. For countries with small economies, this issue is a key and quite painful topic. With its geopolitical location, ancient traditions of agricultural life, diversity of skills and history, Georgia’s national potential can boldly provide a worthy international partnership. It should be considered that against the backdrop of quite a few challenges and difficulties, this will not be an easy process. Accordingly, the country must be reasonably prepared in many ways to meet this most important factor.
